GTO story begins with Ciro Giglio. From an early age, Ciro worked in the travel industry with the humility and patience that have always distinguished the Giglio family. His extensive knowledge of the industry and limitless perseverance allowed him to courageously start his own hotel business in 1962.

Ciro’s son Francesco Giglio inherited his father’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for hospitality and has followed in his footsteps as the current owner and CEO of the hotel group. With steadfast support from his sisters Annabella and Ilaria and years of hard work, Francesco’s dream of developing a luxury hotel group that creatively combines design, cuisine, entertainment and well-being has been realized.

GTO is an established leader in the travel industry for three generations. As an innovative approach, the hotel group pioneered the all-inclusive stay concept in Sorrento while staying faithful to the high hospitality standards characterized by the region. Today, the group boasts six beautifully appointed hotels with over 500 rooms. Each is unique and a one of a kind: Conca Azzurra Resort, Nastro Azzurro & Occhio Marino Resort, Atlantic Palace, Vista di Capri, Mar Hotel Alimuri and Tenuta Montecorbo.

Each accommodation is exquisitely furnished and cared for down to the smallest detail, combining exclusive services and extraordinarily located havens perfect for every type of Mediterranean dream getaway. GIGLIO TRAVEL

Founded by Ciro Giglio, Giglio Travel is the tour operator of GTO, which historically specializes in Gran Turismo bus travel throughout Italy. In 2001, with the support of Francesco Giglio and his international expertise, he opened up the travel agency service to European and American markets.

After gaining invaluable experience and deep knowledge of international markets, Giglio Travel is recognized as a strong, consolidated travel brand. The agency is established as the official partner of leading British giants in the travel and tourism industry.

Today, Giglio Travel supports six luxury hotels and resorts in the Sorrento Peninsula, a fleet of over 25 coaches and minibuses and boasts various collaboration agreements with hotel partners and service providers throughout the country.

MAYA BEACH EXPERIENCE

Maya Beach Experience is a groundbreaking concept conceived by young entrepreneur Davide Rocco in collaboration with Francesco Giglio, owner and CEO of GTO.

Davide's creative flair and artistry combined with Francesco's 20 years of hospitality experience brought the Maya to life with a global scope that breaks the traditional hospitality mold while keeping ties with local tradition. The result is an exclusive beach club resort on the coast made of art, creativity and culinary excellence wrapped in a refined and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Davide has long been actively involved in travel and tourism on the coast, and after several training experiences abroad, he obtained a degree in tourism management and completed his master’s in food and beverage management in Milan. Recognizing Davide’s expertise, talent and skills, Francesco invites him to join the GTO group as creative director and digital strategy manager.

Committed to continuous innovation in a saturated hospitality market, where international investments have been made over the years on the Sorrento and Amalfi Coasts, Davide and Francesco have developed a leading-edge concept, seizing the unique opportunities of the region and the beauty and passion of the local lifestyle and culture.

CEO

Francesco Giglio, owner and CEO of GTO, was born in Sorrento on September 18, 1977. After graduating high school, he attended several training courses in management in San Francisco, and a year later, he began his career within Giglio Travel as the tour operator of the GTO group.

In 2001, he moved Giglio Travel to international markets and, together with his father Ciro, took care of renovating the Nastro Azzurro & Occhio Marino Resort and the Mar Hotel Alimuri owned by the family.

In 2004, he expanded the hotel group by acquiring the Atlantic Palace, which together with the Nastro Azzurro & Occhio Marino Resort will become the first couples and adults-only resort in Campania in partnership with the British travel giant TUI.

In 2005, anticipating trends with his pioneering and progressive approach, he transformed the concept of the all-inclusive stay in the Sorrento Peninsula like no one before him and introduced it as a luxury-level service to the region.

In 2007, he began management of the Conca Azzurra Resort in Massa Lubrense, consisting of two accommodations set in the protected marine area of Punta Campanella.

In 2011, he signed a seven-year contract with British travel group Thomas Cook, becoming the main partner and responsible for hospitality in Italy. In just over two years, Francesco opened five new offices (Rome, Taormina, Syracuse, Ischia and Rimini) and tripled revenue. Francesco became the leader in his industry in Campania, expanded his customer portfolio and collaborated with other hotel groups in the Sorrento Peninsula.

In 2019, he acquired the Conca Azzurra and transformed it into a luxury resort with high-end accommodations and an exclusive beach club, the Maya Beach Experience. The Montecorbo estate also joined the GTO family, a historic residence immersed in a beautiful olive grove with an organic farm, and will be transformed into luxury eco-retreat slated to open in 2021.
